Lions Club of West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook carried out fund raising activities to install a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Machine to provide cleaner water to these affected villages to potentially save lives. We have Rs. 1,515,000 available now to provide one RO machine which can provide cleaner water to 1,000 families (3,000 – 4,000 people). We have identified two villages to provide RO machines and Lions Clubs International, USA may consider a matching grant for the second RO Machine. The project will be handled by Registered Community Based Organisations formed by respective villages and registered with Sri Lankan authorities. Water Board has agreed to provide pump houses for two machines at their own cost.
